Knowing I was heading home soon and that my todo list was pretty much empty Wednesday was designated an Orient Beach day! I'm up early anyway and even at my leisurely pace I was able to have breakfast and be on the beach by 9:50, getting a chair in the back row and hoping to be a little sheltered from the wind. As per Paula's instructions I applied sunblock although it wasn't a hearty application. As usual a little rain shower rolls on by and when that happened I took the opportunity to again do some snorkeling. We had snorkeled right through a boat right of way last time so I was careful to stay out of it this time and managed to find a whole school of fish over by Dolphin watersports! The pictures didn't work out as well as I would have liked but I did get a couple of videos that were quite good. Another thing off the list! Back to the lounger to warm up under the warm caresses of the sun! I ate the carrots and drank most of the litre of water I brought then decided to head to the boutique as I wanted to get a T-shirt before going home. I also needed to get rid of some euro coins and wouldn't you know it, I had just enough to pay for the T-shirt! I also wanted a beer and a magnum ice cream bar but had no more cash so headed back to my bag on the beach to get some US cash. That's another good thing about this side of the beach, you can leave your stuff unattended by your chair and not have to worry about anyone stealing it. On the way back I noticed a large (2.5 feet long) Iguana crossing the road. When I stopped to have a look I noticed there were three of them in the grass! Never saw that in the previous two weeks! By 3:50 it looked it be clouding over and I knew I had soaked up maximum sun so I packed up and headed back. Once back I could see in the mirror that I did indeed get more than enough sun, probably should've used more sunblock! I relaxed with the air on, had a drink and answered some emails. Since it was my last evening I decided a meal in Grand Case was in order and headed out to try L'Estaminet. I was not disappointed. I had the appetizer special, Octopus and lobster ravioli, and Chilean sea bass for a main course. They were both excellent choices washed down with a glass of bordeaux. As if that wasn't enough some roasted pine nut and apricot cake with a mojito sorbet would certainly close the deal. Ready to pay the bill I got what seems to be routine at Grand Case, a free shot of some special drink the owner feels appropriate. In this case it was a tiramisu shooter. The owner says “drink it at once to mix the flavours” and he was right, great taste! I didn't have enough US cash to get the best exchange rate so had to pay with MC. Still, it was a very satisfying experience! I tried to read a little when I got back to the apartment but only lasted a little while before falling asleep at 9. I awoke later to put out the lights and then slept right through until 6:45! Pretty good for me!
